Manchester Metropolitan University is easily accessible by rail, road and air.  We encourage our guests to use modes of transport that help reduce carbon footprint and contribute towards lowering emissions.

Travelling to the Manchester Campus

Train – Manchester Piccadilly is one of the three main stations in Manchester (Manchester Oxford Road is closest to the University).       Please visit for more information.

Walking – The campus is 0.25 miles from Manchester Oxford Road station. Click on the walking map below for directions from the station       and to find your way around the campus. Download a walking map from Oxford Road train station.

Bus – Several buses cross the city centre and the 41, 42, 43, 85, 111, 250, 256 from south Manchester stop at the University. Please visit Transport for Greater Manchester for more information.

Bike – Cycling to the University is easy with convenient cycle lanes on Oxford Road that run to Manchester Met and various bike stands around the campus. Please visit Transport for Greater Manchester Cycling for more information and to download cycle maps.

Car – The University is accessible from the motorways M56, M60 and M602. There is limited on-road parking and multi-story car parking facilities around the campus. For detailed directions on how to get to there by car and for guidance on parking, please click here.

Airport – The University is 9 miles from Manchester Airport. A taxi ride would take approximately 25 minutes.
