Manchester Met Conference and Events team have another successful summer!

Manchester Met Conference and Events team are coming to the end of another busy and successful summer season. The first Drugs, Alcohol, Women and Families Conference (DAWF), supported by the Society for the Study Addiction (SSA) took place in the Brooks building and the Business School hosted the 4th International AR and VR Conference welcoming leading experts from industry and an interactive exhibition which displayed some of the most exciting technologies within the market today.   Our staff were kept busy over the summer with a host of events including residential conferences for the Association of Clinical Biochemistry and Biology and the CUBO annual summer conference.  Feedback for the catering team following the stylish gala dinner included ‘exceptional and fantastic’.

We were also delighted to welcome the British Universities’ International Liaison Association and the Association of Child Psychotherapists Conference, and received some great feedback.

“the experience of working with the events team has been exceptional. The organiser was informative, helpful and very supportive. Customer service was exceptional too from other Manchester Met staff that we engaged with during our event.” Leanne Stelmaszczyk child psychotherapy.or

The 2018 International Gothic Association Conference in early August was the largest conference in IGA history, complete with a drag ball, banquet, dance, fascinating plenaries, and wonderful papers. It was “truly an event that will be remembered in IGA history for some time to come!”

Welcoming back repeat customers is always a pleasure, amongst them Playful Learning 2018 and BSides Manchester, who hosted their IT security conference in the Business School for a fourth consecutive year.  We were also pleased to support the first GNE Myopathy Symposium at Birley, organised by Manchester Met’s Equality and Diversity Specialist Mona Patel. “I wanted to express my thanks to you and your team for your support with our endeavour.”

The 3rd annual residential conference of the National Ambulance LGBT rounded off August and prior to the start of the Autumn term the Prison Learning Alliance and the British Association for Community Child Health hosted their events in the Business School.

We’d like to thank all our customers, and look forward to another great year in 2019.
