The Conference and Events Team actively seek business opportunities through engagement with academics and external organisations to achieve maximum exposure to increase reputation, profile and income generation
The Conference and Events website provides a public overview of the venues available for events, useful information including floor plans, day delegate packages, sample menus, travel and visitor information. The intranet provides additional information for University staff.

- We are aware that not all academic conferences are in a position to make a profit and engagement and profile should also be considered
- We raise the University’s profile through all our Marketing activities
- We give exposure to our academic and service lead conferences through active social media platforms
- We benchmark our charges against local and national competitors, providing discounted rates for internal events
- We collect feedback after every event from both organisers and delegates to ensure consistent improvement
- Delivering sustainable events is important to us
- We offer a 5% day delegate discount on referral business from Manchester Met staff
- Alumni receive a 10% discount on our Day Delegate Rate if they host a business event at Manchester Met
