Manchester Metropolitan University scoop two awards at the CHS Awards 2018

nchester Met’s Conference and Events team scooped Best Sustainable/Green Venue Award and the Chairman’s Award at the CHS Awards 2018 – held at the Principal Manchester on Thursday 31st May 2018.
The CHS Awards provide hotels and venues with a unique opportunity to showcase their facilities – allowing even the smallest independent venue to be recognised for an aspect, service or feature of their property or service. The Awards are judged by an independent panel of over 50 event professionals from leading agencies throughout the UK. Janet Scull, Head of Conference Services at Manchester Met said “We are absolutely delighted to win the Best Sustainable/Green Venue award and also thrilled to receive the Chairman’s Award. Manchester Met is number 1 in the People and Planet University League, and we are proud of its sustainability credentials and our contribution.
We support local community enterprise groups, and in 2017, launched an initiative to support the Big Change Fund, by committing to donate £1 from every conference day delegate rate. We have strong links with Marketing Manchester, the city council and local companies who value as much as we do the mix of our sustainable buildings and quality of service. We hold Green Tourism Gold and Visit England 4 star Campus Accommodation.”
More than 230 hotel/venues/event suppliers entered the fourth annual CHS Awards, which were preceded by a glittering gala dinner.
The Awards are organised by CHS Group who deliver the annual Conference and Hospitality Show in Leeds and the nominations for this year were announced at the Show in April. The judging panel consisted of over 50 agency event professionals, with Samme Allen from Sequoia Venue Solutions as Chair.
The Awards were supported by Jockey Club Venues, The Principal Manchester, AS Audio, You & Me Media, Ta Dah Furniture Hire, Trevor George Entrainment, Healthcare Venues, Off Limits Group, Clean the World, Adia, Venue View and Realise.
